Wedding days are long! I always recommend to air on the side of preparedness. Here is a list of four products you may need to touch up your makeup.

1. Lipstick or Lipgloss

When it comes to your lip products used during the makeup application, I typically always ask if you prefer to wear a liquid matte lipstick or a cream/glossy lip. The answer to this question does not determine whether or not you need a back up product, but rather how frequently you will need to reapply.

If you choose to go with a liquid matte, yes your lips will feel drier, but you will not need to touch up for quite a while, if ever at all. With my special trick to applying liquid mattes, I can achieve an extreme longevity of the liquid matte. My liquid matte for my wedding stayed put for 11 hours and I had to remove it at night, it was still there! Even with a liquid matte, I recommend to pack a gloss or lipstick just in case you find yourself in a situation where you will need to reapply.

If you choose to go with a cream lipstick, you absolutely need to pack a touch up lipstick, gloss and/or lip pencil as well. Cream/glossy lips are so hydrating, they have limited staying power and the tendency to disappear. If you're an expert at wearing lipstick and know how to eat and drink without messing up your lips, you certainly can get a decent amount of time out of your wear. Cream and glossy lips simply do not have the staying power of a liquid matte.

2. Oil Blotting Sheets

Emotions run high on wedding days. You never know how your body will respond to everything going on such as producing excess sweat or oils. Even if you typically do not have oily skin, I recommend at least one person in your party pack oil blotting sheets.

If you are feeling extra shiny in the t-zone, you can gently remove the oil with an oil blotting sheet prior to applying a touch up powder. Makeup can tend to look "cakey" if you are producing excess oil and then pack a powder on top of the oils. It is best to remove the oil first, then lightly dust on a powder.

3. Powder and Powder Brush to Apply

If you only could bring two products, it's gotta be a lip product and powder. For full makeup looks, I recommend touching up with a translucent loose powder so you don't alter the colors of your products used during the makeover. Additionally, typically translucent powders are more finely milled compared to a pressed foundation powder, so they appear to sit lighter on the skin. But, don't forget a powder brush to apply with!

4. Eyelash Glue

One person in your bridal party should pack eyelash glue, just in case! We glue our lashes down and ensure the glue is dried and secured, however, weddings are long! It's better to be prepared if you need to dab a dot of glue on.

Plus, eyelash glue can be used to secure necklaces in place on the back of the neck so they don't twist throughout the day. Simply apply a small dab of glue to where the clasp of the necklace typically lays, wait for the glue to dry 90% and get tacky, then press the clasp into the glue and hold until dry.

Looking back at my wedding day, there were so may unexpected memories. You never know where they day will lead you. You or someone in your bridal party may find themselves in a situation where they could use one of these products! It's better to be prepared!
